The Rise of the Phoenix

The Curious Phoenix began as a partnership named Double_Phoenix_10  in 2009. The two founding partners, of whom I was one, had both survived several “rebirths” in their lives, thus the name “Phoenix” (after the legendary bird who dies and then is reborn in fire) and, since there were two of us, “Double”.

Within a few months, Double_Phoenix _10 faced its first challenge as the partnership dissolved. It was time for Double Phoenix to be reborn and from the flames rose The Curious Phoenix.

However, that was not the end of challenges that Phoenix would face and after two years of friendship and promoting with other sellers on a rather unknown website, it became obvious that the decisions being made by the site’s owners were not in the best interest of The Curious Phoenix.

After much teetering on the edge of the nest, being newly hatched from the fires of challenge once again, The Curious Phoenix has taken full flight, feeling the strength in new wings of independence and becoming its own .com

Since the founding of Phoenix in 2009, I have been given the gift of sharing in the joy and healing of old wounds for many customers who found within Phoenix's shelves the very item that they have searched for over many long years.

From toys that were broken by cruel baby sitters to items that were lost to theft decades ago, I have had the great honor of being a part of the healing process for those aching hearts.

For as long as I can remember, I wanted to have my own curiosity/repair shop. It seemed wrong somehow to throw away beloved items just because they had broken.  Rescuing and restoring lost treasures and finding new homes for them is a particular delight and a dream come true.

I thank all of my customers, past and present for sharing their stories, for never giving up on the hope that one day they would find what they seek, and for sharing their joy and excitement when they find what makes their heart beat.
