**6 3/4 inches wide, 3 3/4 inches tall**
**Deep brown glazed bowl with veritcal and horizontal slash pattern**
**During their lunch hours, Ransbottom employees would take sections of discarded sections of unfired sewer pipes and shape various bowls and containers, glaze and fire them and take them home**
**This is one of those lunch-time works of art, rare and unusual, an amazing addition to an American pottery collection**
**No cracks, no crazing, has small repaired nick on lip, glaze has pitting from air bubbles popping during firing, and there are several small wrinkles or creases and one large one that looks like a backward "7". The creases could be why the unfired piece was cut off and considered not usable for pipe, however, it still makes a very fine, sturdy bowl**
**A terrific salute to American craftsmanship and ingenuity**
**Impressed on bottom with "Ransbottom, USA, Roseville"**
