The particular look to Blue Mountain pottery was achieved through the use of two different glazes. The glazes, one light and one dark, were applied by hand. During firing, the lighter glaze would run and pass through the darker glaze, causing a streaking pattern that was unique to each piece, making them highly desirable as collectibles. Blue Mountain Pottery closed in 2004.
