Gerard, Dufraisseix & Abbot (GDA) came about as the result of the merging of companies and the addition and deletion of various partners from 1881 until it finally became GDA in approximately 1900.

In 1929, GDA purchased Haviland & Co., eventually selling the rights to Charles Field Haviland models and the red round decoration mark to the Robert Haviland and C. Parlon company. In approximately the 1970s, Royal Limoges was added to GDAs name.

The mark on the bottom of this plate was used from 1900 to 1953.
